Tonight, deadly acts of terror. A car bomb kills dozens of women and children at a crowded market in Pakistan just hours after Secretary of State Clinton arrives for a visit. And in Afghanistan, suicide bombers killed five UN Workers. I’m Katie Couric. Also tonight, congress tackles the NFL. The league is under fire over head injuries that may lead to dementia치매 and Alzheimer’s.

Good evening, everyone. The attacks were designed to strike fear in the civilian population and undermine the government. In northwest Pakistan today, terrorists set off a car bomb in a crowed market. At least, 100 people were killed and 200 others wounded. Most of the victims were women and children. And across the border in Afghanistan, the Taliban attacked the UN building in Kabul. The latest attempt to sabotage next week’s presidential runoff. We have two reports tonight. First, Mandy Clark in the Afghan capital.
At dawn, three heavily armed gunman in suicide vests attacked to the United Nations guest house. They opened fire killing two guards protecting a neighboring villa. When the UN guard from the guest house opened the security gate to see what was happening, the gunmen killed him and entered. The rampage that followed lasted two hours leaving the American contractor and five UN staff members dead. Nine other people were injured. “We have reports that these bombers who are wearing uniforms….security personnel uniform.”
A lucky few escaped the building 3-story building by leaping from balconies into neighboring homes. When the afghan national army arrived, the ensuing뒤따른 gun battle killed two militants. The third detonated his suicide vest. The Taliban says this attack is part of their campaign of violence ahead of the runoff election and have promised more brazen단단한 뻔뻔스런 attacks on foreign interests ahead of the vote.
