Frightful weather. A fierce winter storm is creating a holiday mess in the nation’s mid section. Another concern for travelers this Christmas day is the winter weather that has pummeled the mid west and Great Plains. NBC’s John Yang tonight on how the middle of the country is digging out. In Oklahoma City, a white Christmas for the record books. More than 14 inches of snow breaking an 85-year-old record and leading the governor to declare a state of emergency. “Nobody here is prepared for this in Oklahoma City.” “We always play for White Christmas, but it seems like we actually little too much!”

 

Despite numerous abandoned vehicles, officials reopened the state’s highways and turnpikes <> 유료 고속 도로, but discouraged travel. In Dallas, a familiar figure made special mail deliveries on the city’s first Christmas snow cover since 1926. Icy and snowy roads have been blamed for at least 19 deaths this week from Mexico to Minnesota. And tomorrow across the plains, 63% of you in the lower 48 woke up to snow on the ground this morning thanks to the back-to-back storms. And storm No.2: it’s still a blizzard raging tonight in the Dakotas. Take a look at the weather map. As John mentioned, wind gust to 60 miles an hour throw a heavy snow, you’ve got blowing snow, and whiteout conditions there. I-94 was shot down.
