Good morning, looking up. Teams from North America dominate in ice dancing. Gold for Canadian Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, silver for Americans Meryl Davis and Charley White. And they’re all celebrating here at Grouse today, Tuesday Feb. 23rd 2010.

 

From NBC news, this is a special edition of Today at the Olympic Winter Games with Matt Lauer and Maridithiara, live from Vancouver, British Colombia. And welcome to TODAY in this Tuesday morning, day 12 of the 21st Olympic Winter Games, I’m Maridithiara, and I’m Matt Lauer, if you like history, we had a history last night. For the first time ever, the gold in ice dancing went to a pair from North America. Yeap, from Canada, pair Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir skated beautifully to finish in the top spot make their country proud, right guys, Canadians are here. And The Canadian national anthem played for them. Every Canadian in arena sang out and you listen.

 

Also this morning, an exclusive interview with US speed skater Shawnee Davis who repeated his performance from 4 years ago here in Vancouver. Gold in the 10000, silver in the 1500. Will he be back in 4 years? We’re gonna hear from him as well in just a moment!
