Good evening. I’m Terry Moran. While the winter storm that barreled <통제가 안 되게> 쏜살같이 달리다 up the Atlanta coast yesterday is still wreaking 가하다, 입히다 havoc 큰 피해, 혼란 in parts of the northeast and causing headaches from New Jersey to Maine, the storm dumped 30 inches of snow. In some places, a million homes without power. Tonight, travels mess. And this is just the latest act in a season packed with record-setting snow, sleet 진눈깨비and frozen misery. David Wright has more on Mother Nature’s extreme winter makeover.

 

Today, the New York State thruway <미국> 유료 고속도로 was anything but, for much of the day state troopers <미국> 주 경찰의 경찰관 on snowmobiles seemed to be the only ones actually moving, reaching out to some motorists who’ve been stranded 오도가도 못하게 하다 in their cars all day. The slow-moving storm that has walloped 세게 치다 the northeast made it tough to get anywhere today. More than 1000 flights cancelled. Amtrack service on the northeast corridor 통로, 길 disrupted 지장을 주다. Freeways in Ohio and Pennsylvania and Maine deserted버리다. On some mountains, the best ski conditions in 40 years. But who can get there?

 

There’s nothing like a blizzard to make people feel powerless. And because of the storm, today more than a million people in New York State and New England actually did have no power at all. The words to describe it just keep escalating 단계적으로 확대하다. Snowmagdon, Snowpocalypse, and this week, Snowicane. This was already the snowiest winter on record for many cities. Washington DC 56”, Atlantic City 58”, Wilmington Delaware 73”, Philadelphia 77”, Baltimore 80”. Six and a half feet of snow. Now you can add New York City to that list at least for February.
